What an unforgettable reunion! Our TAS 2025 Reunion in San Antonio was a beautiful blend of nostalgia, laughter, and new connections. From the moment we arrived at the stunning hotel to the final farewell breakfast, the energy was electric and the spirit of TAS was alive and well.

We kicked off the reunion Thursday evening with a lively happy hour in the hotel lobby bar. Old friends reunited, new introductions were made, and the excitement for the weekend ahead was palpable. The evening continued in the hospitality suite, where the conversations flowed, memories resurfaced, and the TAS spirit was in full swing. It was the perfect warm-up for everything that followed.

Then on Friday night, over 100 attendees gathered at Smoke SkyBar for a delicious barbecue dinner. The night came alive thanks to Steve Schriedel’s band, The River City Kings, who rocked the stage with their signature sound. A standout moment: Chuck Lesko jumped in with guitar in hand for a crowd-pleasing rendition of Take It Easy.

Trivia: Back in 1975–1977, the Schriedel brothers’ band was known as Sinister Fox and played at the Embassy, TAS middle school dances, and Gulf District events!

Saturday Night – Persian-Themed Banquet
Saturday’s dinner and dance brought together 146 of us—what a turnout! The evening began with a reception, followed by a banquet room adorned with authentic Persian tablecloths from the 1970s. The hotel chef crafted a beautiful menu featuring kebabs, saffron rice, Shirazi salad, lavash with hummus, and baklava.

A heartfelt thank you to the Class of 1975 and our generous sponsors for making the open hosted bar possible—a tradition we hope to continue!

Rennie Kaufmann, our resident DJ, was amazing as always—keeping the energy high and the dance floor lively all night long.

We also held door prize drawings throughout the evening, adding a fun and festive touch to the celebration.

Sponsorship Poster Displayed below to honor those who made the hosted bar possible. Please note that some additional sponsors contributed after the deadline for printing and transporting the poster, and are therefore not listed. Not listed: Penny & Tiger Kayser, Rufus Brown, Pauline Noisi, Mike Pitts, Jodie Pahmeier Brown, Melinda Nickell Crawford, Mark Kaufmann, Nicole Backus, Carolyn Roman Debuque

Class of 1975 – 50th Anniversary Celebration This milestone was the theme of the weekend. David Escamilla hosted a luncheon for his classmates and presented each with a commemorative TAS coin.

Hospitality Suite & Karaoke Nights & Shout-Outs
The hospitality suite was a constant hub of activity—always packed, always buzzing with conversation, and always well-stocked with snacks and beverages. It was the heart of the reunion, where classmates gathered between events to relax, reconnect, and share stories.

A huge thank you to Lisa Boisset Babcock for sending cases of wine from her family’s California winery, Babcock Winery, which added a special touch to the suite. And hats off to Eydie Shoptaugh Mellin for her beautiful decorations, including Class of 1975 graduation photos and reunion memorabilia that sparked so many memories. Rennie Kaufmann sponsored karaoke—and once again, it was a highlight of the weekend. The amount of talent in our group is truly impressive, and karaoke continues to be a standout tradition that brings out the best in our crowd. From powerhouse vocals to hilarious performances, it was so much fun.

Farewell Breakfast
As all good things must come to an end, we wrapped up with a farewell breakfast filled with hugs and hopeful talk about the next reunion. Should we wait three years or do it again in two? Stay tuned—poll coming soon!
