After doing 3 hours of research for the best way to share photos for a group of people or a group event, it all boils down to the fact that no matter which platform I researched, you need an account on that platform to be able to upload photos. There are other photo sharing platforms for groups, but they cost a fee. With that said, here goes:
1. Google is the best, easiest to upload, and the most easily viewable platform. You don’t need a Google/Gmail account to “view the photos”, but you do if you want to upload your photos.
2. Facebook is wonderful for so many things but making it easy for those who don’t use Facebook or have an account to view photos is not possible. Sharing photos in Facebook groups is great for the group but they cannot be made public or even shareable on Facebook outside the group. If you put them on your own timeline/newsfeed, only your Facebook friends can view them, but don’t make them public because you could compromise your profile to hackers.
How to Share Your Reunion Photos So the Most People Can View Them:
The First Way Is If You Have A gmail/Google Account:
1. Email Paula Austin, Class of 1977 at paula@tasassociation.com and let her know that you want to share your reunion photos.
2. I will then add your gmail address to the album.
3. You will receive an email saying you’ve been added, click the link in the email.
4. Then you can upload your photos.
The Second Way If You Don’t Have or Want A gmail/Google Account:
We can use Dropbox for uploading your reunion photos, but you will need to already have or open an account with Dropbox. Don’t worry, they have an excellent free version but you’ll need to open an account, which takes about 30 seconds. Paula’s been using Dropbox for about 15 or 20 years and it’s always been free. They have a paid version, but you don’t need it.
1. Email paula@tasassociation.com and let her know that you want to use Dropbox for uploading your reunion photos. She will share her Dropbox folder with you. You will use her folder to upload your photos or you can share a folder of yours with her.
2. I will download your photos, then upload them to our Google 2025 Reunion Album for everyone to view.
