     3.  Lieutenant Colonel Thomas P. Shively, Sr., USAF-retired (TAS Parent 1966-70).

Died in San Antonio, TX, on March 30, 2011.  He joined the Army Air Force in 1943
and served as a bombardier in a B-24 that did missions over Southern Europe.  Thomas, Sr.,
was later recalled by the Air Force, and his last tour before retiring in 1970 was with
ARMISH-MAAG.  After he retired from the Air Force he worked for the State of Michigan.
He's survived by his wife, Irene, and son, Thomas, Jr., and daughter, Leslie.  Our condolences
to Thomas's family and friends.

     4. Seattle TAS Dinner, July 30.

Can someone share about this TAS event.i.e.-who came, how many came, who all
was involved and pictures?  I'd like to feature this event in the 2012 TASA Newsletter.  Thanks!

    5.  Another book on Iran.

Kathy Roger Vonderhaar (69-74)'78 suggested that we check out, "The Shah," by
Abbas Milani (I wonder if he is related to either Butch'74 or Mina Milani'76?) at:

http://www.amazon.com/Shah-Abbas-Milani/dp/1403971935/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310575442&sr=8-1 .

6. BRATCON radio is seeking...

BRATCON radio is seeking Brats to be interviewed LIVE on air who lived two
separate lives during their Brat high school years. One life at home with parents on the
weekends in small towns in Europe and elsewhere where all their neighbors were "locals,"
often not speaking English at all, and the other life during weekdays attending American
military community high schools sometimes 50 to 200 miles away.  That "second life" of
weekdays at high school often involved being a "dormie" or living with another military
family. The local connection on weekends and school breaks became very culturally
enriching but a different experience from those Brats who lived in American communities.
We would like to explore those differences on a show entitled "Brats at Outposts" to
air in September.  If this is YOU, please submit your story to:  Jeri Glass at jglass@bratcon.com   .

    7.  Our next reunion.

We are looking at having this in 2013, but where?

TASers have shared they want it in:  a Central location, Las Vegas, or the West Coast.

     What say you?
